ESPN Events has announced the eight-team field – Drake, Florida Atlantic, Miami, Nevada, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall, Vanderbilt, and VCU – competing in the 2024 Shriners Children's Charleston Classic. The annual men's college basketball tournament will be played on November 21, 22, and 24 at TD Arena, home of the Charleston Cougars.
Florida Atlantic, Nevada, and Drake played in the NCAA tournament last year while VCU and Seton Hall played in the National Invitational Tournament, with Seton Hall winning the NIT Championship. Miami, Oklahoma State, and Seton Hall will be making return trips to Charleston. Oklahoma State Seton Hall and Miami will be making return trips to Charleston, with the Hurricanes having won the tournament in 2014.
Match-ups, times, and ESPN platform designations for games will be announced at a later date.
Owned and operated by ESPN Events, the Shriners Children's Hospital Charleston Classic is in its 16th year. Past Classic champions include Houston (2023), Charleston (2022), St. Bonaventure (2021), and Florida (2020).
