Frank Broccolo today officially filed as a candidate for Charleston County Coroner.
Highlights of Broccolo’s experience include:
- More than 7,000 hours of firsthand forensic death investigative experience in Atlanta and Baltimore as an American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators board-certified fellow
- 28 years as a certified Paramedic first responder, serving 20 years with Charleston County EMS
- Former Commissioner of the St. Johns Fire District and Charleston County Firefighter’s Insurance and Inspection Fund
- Past DNA scientist at MUSC collecting, extracting, amplifying, and sequencing DNA
- A master’s degree in biomedical science specializing in DNA
- A master’s degree in pharmacy, specializing in toxicology and forensic science
“It would be my honor to serve the citizens as Charleston County Coroner," Broccolo said. "I have spent decades preparing for this role and will be ready on day one to modernize, improve and advance this office. Helping to make our community safer and helping families through their most difficult times is very important to me."
