A small earthquake was recorded near Summerville yesterday. According to the United States Geological Survey, the tremor occurred around 6:13 pm Monday and registered as a 1.8-magnitude quake. It was about 1 mile northwest of Summerville, and 6 miles northwest of Ladson.
