Palmetto Goodwill is accepting applicants for the non-profit’s fiber optics industry certification training program, provided at no cost in partnership with Google and the STAR (Skilled Trades and Readiness) Program.
Designed for community members with little to no experience, the training program will prepare participants with robust knowledge and hands-on skills for entering a career in the fiber optics cabling industry.
Participants will earn industry-recognized certifications at no cost, including: BICSI Installer I, OSHA 10 Construction, First Aid, CPR, and Forklift. Palmetto Goodwill Career Navigators will provide professional skills training and opportunities to connect with employers.
In-person classes will be conducted Monday through Friday in North Charleston, beginning on March 11 and ending on April 5.
