The City of Charleston today announced that the new Daniel Island Beresford Bridge is scheduled to open on June 7th, 2024.
Crews addressed unforeseen embankment stabilization requirements on both sides of the bridge in March. Cape Romain Contractors and the City of Charleston employed solutions such as geotextile grid reinforcement to ensure not only the structural integrity of the bridge, but also the preservation of its natural surroundings.
The new bridge will feature two travel lanes complemented by a multi-use path that should lessen traffic for commuters.
