Hurricane Irene is now a memory for the Holy City, but Folly Beach is still recovering from its destruction. The storm did quite the number on the County Park – the boardwalk is gone and dunes are destroyed.

All things considered, Irene wasn’t as devastating to the Lowcountry as it could have been. Here is a good article from CNN about why forecasters were off the mark about the hurricane’s intensity.
And don’t rest on your laurels just yet…another hurricane is beginning to churn in the Atlantic.
In better news I will be attending the South Carolina Aquarium’s “Brew with a View” event tonight! Tickets are still available if you are looking for some last minute plans. I attended this event last year and loved it! Besides being able to walk around the aquarium, you are able to sample sustainable seafood dishes prepared by local chefs. Also, the food is paired with local beers!
I’ll be sure to post a review in the very near future!
