I recently spoke (via e-mail) with Nicholai Burton, the President of the Greater Park Circle Film Society, about their upcoming summer events. The Film Society features Charleston’s only nonprofit art house theater, which is comprised entirely of volunteers.
They screen new independant films every Saturday night and a free anime show on the first Wednesday of each month. Plus, on one Sunday a month they run a free Community Cinema series. Burton said that series is “a partnership with PBS that shows sneak previews of upcoming issue-based documentaries.”
The films are shown at the Olde North Charleston Picture House at 4820 Jenkins Ave in Park Circle. More more information, visit their official site.
