Charleston County Public Works officials will host a public meeting to provide updates on Segment C of the Main Road Corridor Project on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm in Walton Hall at Saint John’s Episcopal Church, located at 3673 Maybank Highway on Johns Island.
Improvements to Segment C, which begins at the intersection of Bohicket Road and Maybank Highway and extends to Betsy Kerrison Parkway, are designed to reduce congestion, increase capacity, improve drainage, and enhance safety for bicyclists and pedestrians.
During the meeting, staff will present the recommended preferred alternative and gather feedback from citizens.
The Main Road Corridor Project, funded in part by the 2016 Transportation Sales Tax, is being completed in a phased, three-segment approach to prioritize immediate safety and traffic congestion needs.
