With the continuing influx of large dogs, Charleston Animal Society remains overcapacity, limiting our ability to help additional animals in need.
In response, Charleston Animal Society is waiving all dog adoption fees. For this lifesaving plan to succeed, Charleston Animal Society needs the community’s help to empty our shelter of 50 large dogs between Wednesday, April 5th and Monday, April 19th by adopting one of our big mutts.
These dogs are healthy and have each received a behavior assessment.
“Lifesaving is a community-wide effort, and Charleston Animal Society has never needed the community more desperately than we do now,” said Vice President of Operations and Strategy Aldwin Roman, CAWA. “Securing placement for 50 large dogs in 14 days is a big ask, but we are confident our community is up to the challenge.”
All adopted pets come spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Anyone interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing dogs from Charleston Animal Society should come to 2455 Remount Road in North Charleston. Hours of operations are Noon – 5pm on weekdays and 10 am – 5 pm on weekends. You can also go online to CharlestonAnimalSociety.org/
