Painted Hospitality, an Atlanta based company that creates and operates one-of-a-kind entertainment-driven concepts, bars, restaurants, and hospitality ventures, is pleased to announce their newest concept -- Painted Pickle – is officially open. Painted Pickle is a high end pickleball compeatery™, gaming and entertainment venue at 279 Ottley Drive at Armour Yards (known as “The Armour Ottley Loop”) in between Buckhead and Midtown.
In short, a compeatery is a place to compete, eat, drink and be social. We were successful in bringing a fresh perspective to boutique bowling with The Painted Pin and re-introducing duckpin bowling to the mainstream with The Painted Duck. Now, we look forward to putting our mark on pickleball - the fastest growing sport in the nation with Painted Pickle, explains Justin Amick, President and CEO of Painted Hospitality.
The “Court”Yard
The 32,500 square foot space houses an indoor pickleball 'court'yard with eight boutique individually hedge contained courts with permanent nets and several original 36 foot long industrial doors to make the courts “al fresco”. The pickleball cottage features a pro shop with signature swag and merchandise, a wrap around porch overlooking center court, a 12 seat bar with televisions and complimentary showers and lockers.
Painted Pickle offers professional outdoor pickleball court surfacing throughout the facility. Our courts were built by Signature Tennis Courts and feature state of the art cushion technology that enhances the player comfort and minimizes shock on the body. The rubberized sub-layers absorb energy and reduce strain on the knees, hips, and other joints. Professional pickleball lighting, to reduce glare, is used throughout the “court”yard.
Courts are first come first served, starting at 5pm Monday – Friday and all day on the weekends. Open Play, Top Dog Round Robins, Tournaments, Mixers, Lessons/Clinics and more compeatery driven programming are available. Cosmic pickle will be offered every Friday and Saturday 9pm -12:00am.
Ivan Vizcaya has been tapped as the Athletic Director. Vizcaya is a former member of the University of Georgia club tennis team, a certified PPR pickleball instructor and he boasts multiple 5.0 gold medals and 5 wins in two professional pickleball tournaments.
Gaming + Live Music
Separate from the courtyard, in the “food, beverage and gaming” space, guests can enjoy a stage for live music and other competitive pub games and social amenities - all complimentary- including an indoor putting green and gaming lawn, ping pong, bucketball, subsoccer tables, cornhole, table shuffleboard, darts, strategy and board games, beach and lawn games and other unique competitive gaming options.

Design
Intentionally designed to offer several distinct spaces, the interior design and architecture details are unparalleled.
There was a lot of strategy around what happens when you officially enter. As you come through the front doors, guests can see the edge of the music stage, you can glance right and spot the courts or go straight ahead into the garden-centric area or left to the oversize bar. Between the games, sushi, wine and the endless soft seating, guests can really choose their adventure…this “compeatery” model is going to really scratch any itch, explains David Heimbuch, Architect.
Painted Pickle also offers an expansive front and rear patio directly adjacent to the new Northeast segment of the Atlanta Beltline, which just last month landed a $25 million grant to bring it to completion.
