***UPDATE 7/18/13*** – As odd as the audition announcement seemed, the MTV casting call at Market Street Saloon was legit. Details are still a little skimpy at this point, but it appears the show will follow a group of girls who will work at the bar.

A Craigslist add popped up today claiming a new MTV reality television show would be holding a casting call at the downtown Market Street Saloon. You know, because major television networks always put casting calls on Craigslist. The post says the show will be called Southern Girls.
The whole thing seemed to appear out of nowhere and struck a few folks as being pretty odd and, perhaps, less than The Charleston City Paper didn’t have much luck getting in touch with anyone related to the show.
