This Saturday (11/12) is the 9th Annual Blessing of the Vines at the Irvin House Vineyards. The event features the blessing of the vineyards’ muscadine grapevines by a priest, live music, food and plenty of wine. There will also be local craft vendors, sugar cane crushing and pony rides for the children in attendance.
I have been to events at the Vineyard before and I’ve always had a great time. The property is also home to the Firefly Distillery, which tends to be open during all events. That means you’ll be able to sample some tasty vodka to go with your wine. There should also be some local food trucks (like Hello, My Name is BBQ) in attendance.
Tickets are $10 per car load and the event runs from 1-5 pm.
