The Preservation Society of Charleston will host Bob Vila, famed host of This Old House, preservationist, and author as the inaugural Elizabeth Kirkland Cahill Distinguished Lecture speaker.
Established in 2022 as a continuation of Betsy's legacy at the Preservation Society of Charleston, the annual Elizabeth Kirkland Cahill Distinguished Lecture is intended to advance the educational mission of the Preservation Society by featuring a nationally recognized thought leader in the field of urban planning, historic preservation, tourism management, or a related field.
Vila serves alongside Cahill on the Board of Directors of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and has frequented Charleston many times throughout his expansive career. Known for hosting TV series This Old House, Bob Vila's Home Again, Bob Vila, and Restore America, as well as appearances on Tim Allen's sitcom, Home Improvement, Vila has inspired countless individuals to appreciate and actively engage in historic preservation all around the country. Join us for this exciting lecture taking place during National Preservation Month. Tickets are $20 per person and $10 for students.
