Financial Wellness Workshop: Building Credit and Managing Debt

The City of Charleston today announced a series of Financial Wellness Workshops scheduled to take place in late February and early March. These workshops aim to empower community members with valuable insights into financial planning, credit management, debt handling, and steps towards homeownership.
Details of the workshops are as follows:
Creating a Spending and Saving Plan - Planning for Retirement
- Date: February 28
- Time: 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM

Building Credit and Managing Debt
- Date: March 6
- Time: 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM

The Steps to Homeownership (Virtual Session)
- Date: March 13
- Time: 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM
- Virtual Session
- Facilitator: Increasing H.O.P.E
These workshops are tailored for adults, but older youth are also encouraged to participate as they can benefit from the valuable financial education provided. To enhance community engagement, the first 25 registrants attending each in-person workshop will receive a $50 gift card. For the virtual session on March 13, if attendance exceeds 25 participants, gift cards will be raffled off to 25 lucky attendees.
Attendance is capped at 50 participants per session, so early registration is recommended.
