The Meyer Vogl Gallery will next month host a solo exhibition by Carlos San Millán. An opening celebration will take place on Friday, May 3rd, from 5 pm to 8 pm.
Spanish painter San Millán draws in art lovers with his depiction of light vs. dark, as well as his intentional but wild brushstrokes. The solo show gallery Director Katie Geer has been dreaming of, she says, “Both his interior paintings and landscapes invite the viewer into a dream world, where untidy corners and overgrown gardens feel familiar in an enchanting (perhaps even a little haunting) way; a siren song.”
San Millán intends to evoke strong memories or images in the mind of the viewer.
“I like to make portraits of places, spaces or atmospheres that contain a strong memory charge, places that give me the chance of reading open works where the viewer may be able to project himself and find its own way of interpretation,” he states.
The opening celebration for Carlos San Millán will take place during the Art Walk on Friday, May 3rd, and is free to attend. More information can be found at https://meyervogl.com/exhibitions.
