The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League, Inc. (CSOL) presents its 2022 Symphony Tour of Homes – Historic Charleston on Saturday, May 21st and Sunday, May 22nd. The first tour held in 2021, was the recipient of the coveted Gold Award of Excellence awarded by The Volunteer Council of the League of American Orchestras. The CSOL is known for its distinctive Home Tours featuring interior design, architecture and Lowcountry lifestyles, both on Kiawah Island and in downtown Charleston.
A variety of exquisite homes and gardens will showcase downtown Charleston's charming neighborhoods. Homes on the tour will highlight historical and architectural details, interior design, as well as quintessential gardens. A special feature of this year’s home tour will be a 1740's home on Rainbow Row along with some of the Peninsula’s most spectacular gardens.
Over the past 24 years, the CSOL Symphony Tour of Homes, held in Kiawah and Charleston, have become annual destinations for visitors to the Lowcountry. The first Symphony Tour of Homes in Historic Charleston in 2021 welcomed nearly 900 guests. The tour is self-guided with docents available at the homes and gardens to guide visitors. The homes and gardens will be open both days, rain or shine, from 10 am to 4 pm.
The Symphony Tour of Homes would not be complete without music. Both the home tour and the Southern Fête will feature Charleston Symphony musicians and student musicians, many of whom are previous CSOL scholarship winners.
The Symphony Tour of Homes is su pported by donors, sponsors and more than 125 CSOL members and community volunteers. Ticket prices are $65 advance and $70 day of the tour. $150 Friends tickets are also available. Purchase of a Friends Ticket includes 2 Tour tickets and a donation for CSOL Music Scholarships, with donor's name appearing in tour booklet.
To kick off the weekend, A Southern Fête will be held Friday evening, May 20th at the historic Charleston Library Society. This festive evening includes a southern supper with wine pairing, tour and garden highlights by Michael Mitchell, of Mitchell Hill; an intimate musical program by pianist Jessica Minahan White and CSOL scholarship recipients, Fund the Need and a live auction.
Tickets for the Southern Fete are $175, $250, and $500. Table sponsorships are available at $2,500 with seating for 8.
Another opportunity to support the CSOL is offered via a drawing for a 2022 Mach-E SUV, the all electric Mustang. Drawing tickets will be on sale at the Tour of Homes, where the car will be on display, or they can be purchased on the CSOL website.
Proceeds from the Fête, Tour, and Drawing will benefit the Charleston Symphony and music scholarships for students throughout the Lowcountry.
The Tour of Homes and Public Health & Safety: The CSOL will work within the current requirements recommended by the CDC and local health organizations.
