***UPDATE 7/14/12**** A previous version of this article featured some inexcusable errors. I inaccurately stated that Takeover Charleston was behind the Charleston Pride entity and celebrations. In fact, Charleston Pride is put on by Charleston Pride Festival, Inc. They are separate from Takeover Charleston. The goal of this site is to promote local businesses and events (especially ones that I believe in) with complete accuracy – I failed in this instance. I sincerely regret and apologize to Charleston Pride Festival, Inc., Takeover Charleston and my readers for this mistake.
