Snow is expected in Charleston this Saturday, but thankfully the wintry weather will be localized entirely within Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. The culprits behind this unseasonable weather are the Charleston RiverDogs who are hosting “Christmas in July” during their 6 pm game against the Greensboro Grasshoppers.
Here’s what fans can expect to see at The Joe during the match-up:
- A snow machine near the Kids Zone.
- The players will wear special “Yuletide-themed” jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game.
- A special “Summer Santa” will be on hand to take pictures on the concourse.
- Local Salvation Army “bell ringers” will be accepting donations for the charity.
- Choir singers will be performing Christmas carols as fans enter the front gates.
- The Souvenir Shop will have sales on select Christmas merchandise.
