Another day, another random honor for the Holy City.
The SportsBusiness Journal decided Charleston has the 11th best minor league market in the country. The list consists of 235 total communities and was topped by Toledo, Ohio.
The rankings are put out every two years and are based on fan base, tenured clubs and the economy. Charleston’s current rank is a slight drop from 2011 when they were rated #7.
The area’s minor league teams are the Charleston Battery (soccer), the Charleston RiverDogs (baseball) and the South Carolina Stingrays (hockey).
