The Charleston Battery's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup contest against NISA side Savannah Clovers FC has been confirmed for Tuesday, April 4th, at Patriots Point, kicking off at 8 pm. Charleston and Savannah enter the knockout tournament in the Second Round.
Tickets for the match are on sale now via SatGeek.com, the club's exclusive digital ticketing partner, starting at $10 for all seat levels. Season Members have the game already included in their Membership.
Fans should note that only the West Grandstand and Supporters Section will be open for the game. The East Grandstand will be closed, but those with Memberships in that section will be moved to the most comparable seats in the West Grandstand. Parking passes will be honored for Members with season-long parking passes.
The match will be the first between Charleston and Savannah. The Clovers, formed in 2016, are embarking on their first season as a professional team and are members of NISA (third division). Former Battery players Jack Pondy and Joel Bunting were among Savannah's first professional signings.
Charleston have built a strong reputation in the competition and have made notable runs in the tournament. The Battery were the most recent non-MLS club to reach the Open Cup Final (2008, against D.C. United) before Sacramento Republic FC reached the Final in last year's edition. The Black and Yellow will aim to make noise in the competition again with Ben Pirmann at the helm.
