Four elected officials representing Daniel Island on Thursday endorsed William Cogswell for mayor of Charleston. Those officals are State Representative Mark Smith (R), State Senator Larry Grooms (R), Berkeley County Councilman Josh Whitley, and Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis.
“Daniel Islanders spoke loudly on the 7th that they want change in our city and this outpouring of support from their elected leaders echoes that change," Cogswell said. "What we’ve been missing in Charleston is collaboration with stakeholders and this shows that on November 21st, we can take the first step towards working together again. Charleston’s future is bright and Daniel Island is part of that shining light of hope."
