The Charleston City Paper (CCP) last week endorsed Reggie Burgess for Mayor of North Charleston. According to the CCP, they made the endorsement due to his “leadership experience and savvy to pull the city together in new, exciting ways for the future.”
“I am humbled and grateful to receive the endorsement of the Charleston City Paper of my vision for North Charleston,” Burgess said.
Burgess has stated that as mayor, he would focus on improving the quality of life across the city from its poorer, historic neighborhoods to newer, wealthier enclaves. His commitments include building grocery stores to eliminate food deserts, improving community centers that need repairs, partnering with developers to build more affordable housing, and investing in small business incubator programs.
