This morning, Chris Singleton, the Charleston Southern baseball player who lost his mother in the Mother Emanuel AME Church shooting, was interviewed on TODAY.
After discussing his life after the shooting, he was treated to a surprise visit from New York Yankees stars Alex Rodriguez (who rehabbed with the Charleston RiverDogs in 2013), Brett Gardner (a Charleston area native), and Dellin Betances (who played the RiverDogs in 2008).
Singleton also found out that he will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch tonight at Yankee Stadium. Since his appearance on TODAY, Singleton joined the Yankees organization for numerous activities. The team’s Twitter account has documenting their day with Singleton.
