Personal finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2021's Most & Least Energy-Efficient States and South Carolina was listed as being the energy-efficient state in the country.
To gauge the financial impact of doing more with less energy — the average American household spends at least $2,000 per year on utilities and another $1,568 on motor fuel and oil — WalletHub compared the auto- and home-energy efficiency in 48 U.S. states. Due to data limitations, Alaska and Hawaii were excluded from the analysis.
Energy Efficiency in South Carolina (1=Most Energy-Efficient; 24=Avg.):
- 48th – Home Energy Efficiency
- 39th – Vehicle-Fuel Efficiency
- 35th – Transportation Efficiency
