Trident United Way (TUW), a leading local nonprofit organization committed to fostering positive change and development within the Tri-County, is excited to announce their most recent cycle of Changemaker Grant awards, with amounts ranging from $500 to $15,000.
Trident United Way’s most recent grant cycle supports Capacity Building for nonprofit organizations in a variety of categories, including technology upgrades, staff and volunteer training and facility enhancements. By investing in these critical areas, Trident United Way aims to help local nonprofits improve their operations, expand their services and continue their mission of making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

Founder of AMOR Healing Kitchen Maria Kelly, whose organization was a recipient of the Changemaker Grant in early 2024, reflects on the impact of the grant: "The Changemaker Grant has been instrumental in helping AMOR Healing Kitchen expand and enhance our services. With the grant, we were able to purchase new equipment, including a cooler, freezer and a high-volume food processor. This has allowed us to safely store and process the generous donations we receive from local growers, Charleston parks and other community sources. We no longer have to turn away any produce, and we can now freeze and store much of it to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our clients.”
