Mews + Brews Cat Cafe, which opened in Summerville in January, reached 100 adoptions on Friday, May 12th. They have been open for a little over 5 months and have had up to 4 adoptions in a single day.
“It's amazing that we've hit this milestone in less than 6 months,” saud Cait Cox, the cafe's owner. “We put our hearts and souls into what we do, so seeing these cats find their ‘fur-ever homes' is the most rewarding thing ever. I can't wait for the next 100!”
Mews + Brews Cat Cafe works closely with their partner shelter Dorchester Paws to screen potential adopters and place cats in the best possible homes. Guests can spend time socializing with the adoptable cats in the cafe and, if they decide to adopt, can complete the application process during their visit.
Dorchester Paws handles the intake process for new cafe cats, ensuring they are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The cafe cats live at Mews + Brews and receive routine care from both the cafe and shelter staff until they are adopted. The cats roam free in the cat lounge giving them the opportunity to show off their personalities to potential adopters.
If you'd like to help the Mews Crew celebrate this milestone, stop in anytime from now until next Friday to visit with the kitties for just $10. The entry price includes an hour with the cats and a complimentary cafe beverage.
