Personal finance website WalletHub today released a report on the States With the Most Credit-Diligent Residents and South Carolina residents ranked as the 9th least diligent with credit in the U.S.
WalletHub compared six key metrics for each of the 50 states that indicate awareness and diligence in managing credit. Their data set ranges from the percentage of customers who have filed a dispute with a creditor to the percentage of frozen credit reports and active bankruptcies.
Diligence With Credit in South Carolina (1= Most Diligent; 25 = Average):
- Overall Rank: 42nd
- 46th – Percentage of Customers Who Have Collections Tradelines (Q1 2024)
- 15th – Percentage of Frozen Credit Reports (Q1 2024)
- 46th – Percentage of Customers Who Have Missed Payments (Q1 2024)
- 26th – Percentage of Customers Who Have Active Bankruptcies (Q1 2024)
- 37th – Percentage of Customers Who Have Foreclosures (Q1 2024)
- 19th – Percentage of Customers Who Have Filled a Dispute in the Last Two Quarters (Q4 2023 & Q1 2024)
