By: CharlestonGOOD Despite the growing availability of COVID-19 vaccines, the Lowcountry is still facing health and safety challenges related to the pandemic. Our communities have an immediate need for masks and PPE. With COVID cases still rising in some areas, and with many families struggling financially, too many people are unable to afford the necessary PPE to keep their families safe. I Serve with Joy would like to help eliminate some of that stress and anxiety by providing masks for our youth, young adults and the elderly, within under-served communities in the Lowcountry. I Serve With Joy invites you to help them provide masks to those in our community who cannot afford them due to the hardships of the pandemic. Joy Campbell, Founder and Director of I Serve with Joy, has seen the need first-hand: “While volunteering, I've witnessed the short supply of masks and other PPE at local schools, shelters, and while meeting with disadvantaged families in person. We must act now to protect those in our community who need our support.” I Serve with Joy distributes supplies directly to schools, as well as to individuals at events, alongside food distribution, or out and about in the community. They have also partnered with the North Charleston Police Department to increase their distribution capacity. So far, I Serve with Joy has provided over 3000 masks to local individuals in need. And they just received a donation of 6000 masks from Rhino Medical Supply, a minority-owned company based in Columbia. But they need your help to reach their goal of 20,000 masks before May 1 when the campaign ends. 3 WAYS YOU CAN HELP 1. DONATE ONLINE: Your financial contributions can also make a huge impact. For example, a $100 donation can provide 500 masks to people in need – IServeWithJoy.org 2. DONATE SUPPLIES: If you would like to donate actual masks or PPE supplies, you can drop off your donation at one of the campaign partner locations or schedule a drop off by emailing: iservewithjoy@gmail.com
