SeamonWhiteside (SW+), a full-service site design firm throughout the Carolinas, is completing Land Planning, Civil Engineering, and Landscape Architecture on the new Oakbrook Library at The Ashley River located at 2830 Bacons Bridge Road in Summerville. The groundbreaking ceremony occurred last week and the library is anticipated to open late 2023.
“We are very honored to provide the civil engineering and landscape architecture services as part of the design team chosen for the new Dorchester County Oakbrook Library,” says Jennifer Palmer, Director of the SeamonWhiteside Summerville Office. “Located just steps away from the Ashley River Park, this will be a convenient and accessible resource for the community, adding tremendous value to Dorchester County and the Town of Summerville. This new library will be something for not only us but also for future generations to enjoy!”
SeamonWhiteside will work closely on this project with architecture and design firm McMillan Pazdan Smith to bring the master plan to a reality.
Many locals attended the groundbreaking last Thursday and expressed their excitement for the much-needed addition of a new library to the community.
