The Quilts of Valor Foundation, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and supporting Veterans and service members through comforting, handmade quilts, will present quilts to local Veterans in the Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System main auditorium, October 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
Studies have shown that receiving a Quilt of Valor can provide a range of benefits to Veterans, including:
- Reduced anxiety and stress
- Improved sleep quality
- A sense of comfort and well-being
- A reminder of the support and appreciation they have received
Beyond the tangible comfort of the quilts, the Quilts of Valor Foundation fosters a sense of community by:
- Connecting volunteers across the country with Veterans in need
- Providing an outlet for quilters to express their gratitude
- Creating a national network of support for Veterans
The ceremony will be an opportunity to honor the service and sacrifice of our Veterans, and to highlight the positive impact of the Quilts of Valor Foundation.
