The inaugural edition of “Peyton's Wild and Wacky 5K Ultra” will be held on Saturday, March 14th at Middleton Place Woodlands.
The race was created to honor the life of Peyton Moore and his love for running and community. Peyton died at the age of nine, but made a lasting impression on the Charleston running community and many more. He was born in Mount Pleasant, attended Mount Pleasant Academy, and was a member of The Mount Pleasant Track Club, the Charleston Running Club, Charleston Runs, and USA Track & Field.
Peyton’s Wild and Wacky Run will include a 5K and an Ultra 10x5K (one 5k each hour for ten hours = 50k). The race will begin at 7 am (the 5K starts at 11 am).
All proceeds from the race will be donated to Peyton’s favorite organizations:
- Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund
- Mount Pleasant Track Club
- Mount Pleasant Academy
