How do you do it in nature? Julie Weldon and Stacey Pierce (right) want to know. Weldon and Pierce are co-founders of OME Gear, an LGBTQ+, women-led outdoor gear company based in Charleston. To accompany their outdoor gear brand, they've launched an outdoor-centric podcast called Do It In Nature.
The duo’s bi-weekly podcast airs on Wednesdays and features interviews with some of the most prolific voices in the outdoors industry, including owners of outdoor companies, founders of outdoor nonprofits, extreme adventurers, and athletes. Their initial episodes feature the owner of South Carolina's largest oyster farm, director of the world's largest offshore fishing tournament, and more.
Do It In Nature seeks to give those people a platform to tell their stories in hopes of inspiring others to get outside. This podcast series is the perfect outdoor escape during the nation's “new normal” of social distancing.
“Stacey and I are excited about the Do It In Nature podcast because it will afford us the opportunity to give a voice to people who have dedicated their life's work to spend the majority of their time outdoors inspiring others to get outside more,” Weldon said. “In a time where the screen in front of us has become more important than the people or nature we’re interacting with, more stories like this need to be told.”
