On Monday, June 14th, 2021, the City of Charleston Stormwater Service, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), and Charleston Water System will begin work on a sinkhole that will require closing the southbound lanes of Meeting Street at the intersection with Calhoun Street.
The lane closure will begin at 7 am and likely last three or more days. SCDOT will provide traffic control. Southbound lanes will turn right at John Street and left on King, the sidewalk at Marion Square will be closed to facilitate the repair and northbound traffic will continue as usual.
