St. George—Senator Vernon Stephens (D-39), Representative Joseph Jefferson Jr. (D-102), and Representative Gilda Cobb-Hunter (D-95) - not photographed - presented a $100,000 check to Medical Ministries Inc. on Thursday, September 12th. This funding will help Medical Ministries continue their community work by covering medical supplies, administrative costs, and staff salaries.
Senator Vernon Stephens stated, “We recognize a disparity exists in rural healthcare, and we are doing whatever it takes to bridge that gap. Rep. Jefferson, Rep. Cobb-Hunter, and I are excited that we are able to present a $100,000 check to Medical Ministries. We know they are doing good work in the community, and these funds will help them continue doing their good work.”
Medial Ministries LLC operates a healthcare clinic. It primarily serves as a general outpatient center, offering evaluations and treatments for various medical conditions. The clinic provides general healthcare services, typically through family medicine practitioners, and caters to patients of all ages. It focuses on essential care but is not specifically known for specialized medical services.
Representative Joseph Jefferson Jr. stated, “I am so impressed with the efforts being made by Medical Ministries; they are helping those who are unable to help themselves. We will continue to find resources and fund resources to help the people of South Carolina.”
Bonnie Banks stated, “You don't understand the impact this will make. There are so many people within the rural communities the don't understand that they have to have some quality healthcare. Some of our patients have not seen a doctor in ten years.”
