James Island Outreach (JIO) in partnership with nine area churches is sponsoring its annual Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 24, 2024, 4 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1440 Folly Road, Charleston. The service will begin with a special choral prelude by the Charleston School of the Arts Singers under the direction of Heather Hammond Caffarel and Robin Rogers.
In addition to the Charleston School of the Arts, the service features four local church choirs including New Beginning Congregational Church, First Baptist Church of James Island, and Greater Bethel AME Church Gospel Choir and Fort Johnson Baptist Church. Pastor Russ Miller of James Island Christian Church will offer the Thanksgiving Meditation.
There will be a love offering and food collection to benefit James Island Outreach. Jeff Gordon, James Island Outreach Executive Director, will share the annual JIO ministry report. All community members are encouraged to attend this special experience.
