Ignite Digital Services, a digital transformation company serving the national security sector, joined the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge program in June. With nearly 200,000 members of the U.S. Armed Forces returning to civilian life each year, SkillBridge connects these transitioning service members with industry partners to advance real-world job experiences.
“Ignite Digital has a strong connection to the U.S. Armed Forces,” shares Marc Murphy, CEO for Ignite Digital. “We’re doing work for these military branches, we’re employing veterans, and now we’re assisting fellow service members in the transition from active to civilian life.”
SkillBridge is a unique opportunity for service members to utilize their final days of service to prepare for post-service employment and career progress. SkillBridge participants work with approved industry partners to complete training or internship experience that will translate to the civilian workforce—while retaining their active-duty status, salary and benefits. The SkillBridge Industry Partners work closely with program participants to develop upcoming talent that benefits their specific workforce needs while contributing to participant career outlooks.
Ignite Digital’s team is more than 20% veterans and, with the help of its SkillBridge program, plans to increase that number. “We see our SkillBridge program as an opportunity to cultivate the next generation of talent at Ignite Digital,” adds Murphy. “Services members bring extensive experience, skills, and unmatched work ethic to the table. We’ll help them apply those qualities to digital transformation and systems integration projects.”
