The fire at 213 East Bay Street had barely been extinguished when the Holy City community began to ask what they could do to help the employees of the destroyed businesses. They now have their answer after the Brick posted a link to a fundraising account on their Facebook page.
The money they raise will be evenly split between the impacted bars – The Brick, Light, the Speakeasy and Squeeze – so they can donate it to their employees.
You can donate to the cause by visiting the fundraising site here.
The Brick also mentioned there would be a “Food Truck fundraiser this Saturday and another event in the near future.” As soon as I hear about either event, I will pass word along.
As for the building itself, engineers have determined that the facade is structurally sound, which did not surprise the folks from The Brick who were familiar with the structure’s history.
The building has previously survived tornadoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes.
