Youth Empowerment Services, Inc. (Y.E.S.), a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young women, will host its annual Y.E.S. Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, November 9, from 9 am to 12 pm at Wescott Park in North Charleston. The Walk-A-Thon aims to raise $30,000 to support Y.E.S.’s impactful programs, including small-group mentoring, educational workshops, HBCU college tours, and the Dream Girls Conference.
Y.E.S. serves minority, underserved, and disenfranchised middle and high school girls, particularly those from communities across Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties. By joining the walk, participants will help ensure the continuation of vital programming that encourages girls to embrace their self-worth and pursue a healthy, productive future.
“As we come together to walk, we’re helping to break cycles of poverty and empower girls to reach their fullest potential,” said Roslin Fields, founder of Youth Empowerment Services, Inc. “Our goal is to inspire young girls to embrace their worth and create brighter futures for themselves.”
Funds raised will support outreach efforts and programs that inspire self-confidence, leadership, and academic achievement, all rooted in Christian values. These activities empower young girls with the skills and guidance they need to embrace bright futures and thrive.
