Dorchester School District Two proudly announces the exceptional achievement of two of its outstanding musicians, Alyssa Cross from Ashley Ridge High School and Wyatt Savage from Summerville High School. Both students have been selected to participate in the South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA) "Masters Recital," a highly competitive statewide event.
The SCBDA Masters Recital is a competition open to high school juniors and seniors across South Carolina. Alyssa, a clarinetist, and Wyatt, an English horn player, have secured their spots among the top 12 students in the state.
This recital is not just a showcase of musical prowess but also a competition where students will vie for college scholarships. The event will take place during the South Carolina Music Educators Conference in February, further adding to the significance of this achievement.
Alyssa and Wyatt's participation in this statewide event reflects the high standards and commitment to excellence within Dorchester School District Two's fine arts programs. The district takes immense pride in the dedication of its educators and the hard work of its students, resulting in this remarkable representation on the statewide stage.
The entire Dorchester community is invited to join in celebrating Alyssa and Wyatt's musical achievements and wishes them the best of luck in the upcoming competition.
