Press Release
Dorchester County will host a public meeting at the Dorchester County Council Chambers, located at 500 N. Main Street, Summerville, on Monday, August 22nd, from 6 pm – 8 pm. The meeting will answer questions and provide information on the streetscape improvements planned for Ladson Road from the termination of the SCDOT Dorchester Road Safety Improvement project to Coopers Ridge Boulevard.
This meeting will have a drop-in type format with displays for viewing. For those unable to attend, residents also have the ability to provide written comments. The design is schematic and input will be evaluated and incorporated into the project where feasible.
This project consists of landscaped median improvements to approximately two miles of Ladson Road. The improvements involve constructing dedicated turn lanes at key intersections and the installation of raised landscaped medians with plantings and street lights.
The project is currently in the surveying, pre-construction/schematic design phase. Coordination with the SCDOT and utility companies is underway.
Dorchester County personnel and consultant representatives will be available to answer questions and discuss the project with interested residents on an individual basis.
Public comments, written or oral, are invited. Written public comments can be submitted on the County website: www.dorchestercountysc.gov/
