DeSano Pizza Bakery will open its doors this Friday at 94 Stuart Street. The restaurant will be offering “authentic Pizza Napoletana” and more when they begin serving at 11:30 am.
Patrons will find ten different pizzas on the menu – all of which will be made with a mix of ingredients flown in weekly from Naples and fresh, stateside produce.
Each pie will be cooked in one of the restaurant’s three Acunto Grande Forni ovens, which were the same type used by Rafaelle Esposito to make the first margherita pizza back in 1889. The ovens were handmade in Naples and shipped by sea to the bakery. These behemoths check in at over 6,000 pounds each and can hit temperatures that exceed 1000 degrees. Pizzas can cook in an astounding 90 seconds.
In addition to the rapdily-cooked pizzas, DeSano will offer calzones, salads, cannolis, and biscottis.
Guests are welcome to bring their own wine, but nonalcoholic beverages, select wines, and local craft beers will be available.
