WALTERBORO, S.C. (July 15, 2024) – Out of an abundance of caution following the loss of air conditioning facility-wide, Colleton Medical Center transferred inpatients to our sister HCA Healthcare facilities in the area on Saturday, July 13.
Replacement units arrived on site on Sunday, July 14 and the building is cooling down. Team Colleton continues to work in tandem with our larger HCA Healthcare network to dehumidify the building while working through the appropriate quality checklist to ensure the safety of our patients, their families, and our colleagues before returning to normal operations.
Colleton Medical Center’s ER remains open for walk-in emergency care needs.
Elective surgeries and imaging services scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, and Wednesday, July 17 have been rescheduled. Outpatient rehab, Wound Care, and physician offices remain open.
