The Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections wants Charleston County students to design “I Voted!” stickers for upcoming elections.
Children entering grades K-12 are eligible to participate in the contest. Students must be enrolled in a recognized educational institution or homeschooling program. This contest is not open to Charleston County employees or immediate family members of Charleston County employees.
Entries will be accepted from 12 pm on July 4, 2023 through 12 pm on August 15, 2023. The board's executive leadership team will then select the top five designs from each grade group.
Grade groups are as follows:
- K-5
- 6-8
- 9-12
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria: creativity, uniqueness, relevance to theme, and visual appeal. The finalists will then be uploaded to the Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections Facebook page for a public vote through Facebook likes. The public voting period will run from 8:30 am on August 22nd, 2023 until 5 pm on September 15th, 2023.
Designs must fit on a 2” x 2” circular sticker. Submissions should be visually appealing, creative, and related to the theme of voting and civic engagement. Entries cannot contain any offensive, derogatory, or inappropriate language, symbols, or imagery, and should be free from copyrighted material or trademarks belonging to others. Each participant may only submit one entry for the competition. Entries will be accepted via mail, in person, email, or Google Form.
The top design from each grade group will be produced and distributed at early voting locations throughout Charleston County during the 2023 Municipal General Election. Top stickers will also be featured on Charleston County Government social media.
