Charleston will once again be under a curfew on Sunday evening. Mayor John Tecklenburg and the Charleston City Council on Saturday night issued a curfew after protests in downtown Charleston led to some looting and vandalism.
The Mayor and City Council on Sunday held an emergency meeting where the motion for another curfew was approved.
The curfew for downtown Charleston will be in place from 6 pm on Sunday until 6 am on Monday, June 1st. However, officials have the ability to extend the boundaries and length of the curfew if needed.
