ECO Runways, a slow fashion gala geared towards sustainable fashion, announced its new date for their 4th runway show, "Activism x Environmentalism." The gala will take place on May 9th at South Carolina Society Hall, starting at 6 pm. This show brings together fashion enthusiasts, industry professionals, and environmental activists for an evening of style, innovation, and conscious living.
The theme of this season’s gala, "Activism x Environmentalism," reflects ECO Runways' commitment to inspiring positive change through fashion. By combining activism and environmentalism in one event, ECO Runways seeks to empower attendees to become agents of change in their own communities.
This gala will showcase collections from renowned local sustainable designers and vintage fashion curators who have made significant contributions to the slow fashion movement. Through their innovative designs and use of eco-friendly, up-cycled materials, these designers have proven that fashion can be both stylish and sustainable.
“In a world where we are pulling archived looks for luxury runways or celebrity appearances, there is still too much judgment going around for buying secondhand," said Ari Elevati, Founder and CEO of ECO Runways. "‘Archived’, ‘vintage’, and all of those buzzwords are just another way of phrasing ‘it’s been used.’ There is nothing wrong with being resourceful and finding quality garments or accessories at a lower price point because it’s on its second or third life. There is no reason why you can’t be fabulous and sustainable. ECO Runways is a testament to that! We look luxurious and high-end in all of our circular fashion items. Considering the amount of donated clothes that still get incinerated or shipped overseas, we definitely should all be pushing for a more circular economy in fashion.”
