The hit Netflix series Outer Banks, which filmed in the Charleston area, has officially been renewed for a second season. The announcement was made Friday on the show’s Instagram account.
Outer Banks is a coming-of-age story that follows a tight-knit group of local teens in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The first season premiered back on April 15th.
So far there is no word on whether the series will return to the Charleston area for filming. Earlier this week, a casting website claimed the show was looking for extras, but they were not authorized by Netflix to do so. A local casting company called the website a “scam.” If the show returns to Charleston, extras casting will likely be handled by a local company and Holy City Sinner will be sure to share that information.
