Press Release
The Beaufort Bonnet Company, an upscale baby and children's clothing and lifestyle brand, is excited to announce the opening of its fourth signature store and first in South Carolina, Little Palmetto Pearl. Located in Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, the store will carry the brand's upscale apparel, accessories, gifts and signature baby bonnets.
“It's wonderful to continue our expansion, especially in a new location that is so close to where the brand originated,” said Markey Hutchinson, the company's founder and chief executive officer. “We believe our brand is the perfect fit for Charleston, and we are excited to bring our beloved clothing line to Mount Pleasant families and children!”
Established in 2012, The Beauford Bonnet Company has evolved from a handful of iconic styles to a full-fledged lifestyle brand with an expanding presence throughout the U.S. Currently sold online, in their multiple signature stores and in approximately 400 other retail locations nationwide, The Beaufort Bonnet Company’s coveted offerings have expanded to include a range of baby and children's apparel, as well as gifts and accessories.
“We are so delighted to align with this classic children's brand, which we have long been fans of, and to exclusively carry the timeless and vintage prep pieces The Beaufort Bonnet Company has become known for,” said Neil and Nicole O'Hara, the Mount Pleasant store's proprietors. “We can't wait to watch our amazing community fall in love with this brand!”
The 1,003 square foot boutique will feature a white brick exterior and inviting atmosphere inside with traditional Lowcountry architecture, custom shelving and whimsical, inspirational details. The Little Palmetto Pearl name stems from one of The Beaufort Bonnet Company's signature colors, as well as the region's abundance of palmetto trees and oysters.
The company’s hallmark bonnet is based on a generations-old heirloom pattern from the nearby coastal town of Beaufort, South Carolina. A combination of timeless design and practical function, the company's bonnets and little boys’ bucket hats were an instant hit, with mentions in Forbes, Wall Street Journal, InStyle, OK Magazine and People. In 2017, The Beaufort Bonnet Company joined the Oxford Industries family of brands, which includes Tommy Bahama, Lilly Pulitzer and Southern Tide.
