Press Release
LimRic Plumbing Heating & Air, the premier plumbing and heating and air conditioning service company in the Lowcountry, is breaking the gender bias barriers and forging new career paths for women in the trades.
In alignment with Women's History Month and International Women's Day on March 8th, LimRic launched a ‘Transforming the Trades' video (see below) to further instill the company's concerted effort to inspire, recruit and provide career opportunities for women in traditionally male-dominated plumbing and heating and air industries.
Over 91% of people in plumbing and HVAC careers identify as male.
“Many women may feel that working in the trades is unconventional or not an option at all, however, women are just as capable and successful as men in these fields,” said Cassi Hedges, Chief of Staff of LimRic. “At LimRic, we want to break down the barriers of entry and gender bias, and open the doors for women in the Charleston community and beyond to learn about the countless opportunities and benefits of working in trade industries.”
“At LimRic, we're proud to employ female plumbers, comfort specialists, customer service representatives; and even 46% of our management team are women,” added Cassi. “Service trade careers provide financial stability, continuous education, and knowledge and experience that can be applied in other industries.”
In addition to the many benefits team members receive, from competitive medical insurance to a 401K company match plan, LimRic is making a concerted effort to advocate for women in the trades and assure that women and all team members are accommodated:
“We truly work together as a family, and we want our recruitment messaging to be as authentic and transparent as possible,” said Kelly Palenske, Marketing Director of LimRic. “All of the women featured in our Transforming the Trades video are actual team members at LimRic, including Maddie who is a Plumber, Cassie who is our Chief of Staff who acts as the homeowner, and Alex who is an Install Coordinator and acts as the future Plumber.”
