The Lowcountry's own 14U Jr. Stingrays beat their in-state rival, the Greenville Road Warriors, in the SC State Championship Tournament to earn their spot as the South Carolina contestant at this years' USA Hockey National Tournament held in Dallas (held from April 28th to May 3rd). The Jr. Stingrays went undefeated in the round-robin play, beating Kentucky, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.
The squad went into the championship game playing against Atlanta, who was also undefeated. It was a hard-fought win that ended 4-4 in regulation and went into overtime to decide the winner. The overtime win came with just 5:05 remaining of the 16 minute period with a thrilling goal from Captain Colton Mons – his second goal of the game.
