Kate Laflin, a licensed veterinary technician, recently launched a Kickstarter campaign with the goal of securing enough funds to open a cat caf é in Moncks Corner. The business will be called Catnip & Coffee.
Cat caf é s first appeared in Taiwan, and their popularity quickly spread around the world. There are a growing number of cat cafes in the United States, including one in downtown Charleston.
Once open, Catnip & Coffee will serve coffee, beer, and wine and will partner with the Berkeley Animal Center to provide a foster home for adoptable cats.
